Kite Shield slots?

Just checking to see how many slots a Kite Shield takes?  1 slot or 2 slots?  It weighs 6.5, which from what I've read means that it probably takes 2 slots.  But I've only got 1 slot open on my build, and I'd really like to have a Kite Shield (or Norman Shield even), instead of having to go with a Plain Kite Shield (which only weighs 5.5 and I think takes 1 slots).  And I also need to know if I need to put 2 or 3 points to Shield for my build.

Bellow 3 = 0 slots, there is only one 0 slot shield, Round Buckler Shield.
