Overseas Trade?

Before this round of strat was started, chadz had mentioned Over Seas trade, with the towns on the coast etc. Apparently it was important enough to shape the border of the EU/NA split, and so far, i haven't seen/heard anything about it. Is it a feature that the devs never got around to implementing? Or has it been going on and im just clueless?

I'm not sure if this is what they meant, but you can travel over water...maybe they want villages on the sea to send people over water to trade with other coastal villages?  I imagine the waters are less patrolled by bandits

Yeah but man its slow going... I mean its easier to just gear up 100 troops with middle of the road arms and rounceys...
