Why is the melee speed of some throwing weapon so low ???

melee speed of throwing lance: 80(120length)   vs long spear 81(245 length)

speed of jarid 80 length  for 87 speed  as fast as GLB 

Heavy Throwing axe   53 length for 95 speed ---> OK thats reasonable  !!!!

I get that throwing weapon need to be grimped in melee. But some of those melee speed are totally unjustified considering they already do ridiculous damage.
Not asking for a spammable throwing lance but at least some okayish speed (88-92 ? ).

It would be a nerf against good player because the stab is so slow it messes up their timing  .

Yeah, throwing lances are one of the fastest melee weapons and is totally spammable. That 80 speed is the ranged speed (how fast you can throw them after each other).

its not the speed that is bad, its the length.  lance should be like 135 in melee, spears/javs/jarids at least 100-120.  You're trying to tell me that the 'usable' size of a 5ft long javelin is shorter than the blade of a katana? thats just wrong

Most polearms have a shorter reach than 2h, even if the are longer. Just because the spears are hold in the middle, the 2h at the end. The length says absolutely nothing about the weapon.
