Didn't play for a long time as a shielder - is Steel Shield as viable as it was year ago, worse or better?

Hmm, it with the 3-slot maul change it is a bit more usefull.
Lately i see a lot of 2h/mallet combos and the steel shield is able to block the overheads of the mallet.

if you are an awful player use steel shield and plated charger and just horse bump people

i see no other use for it

That's exactly what I do.

And use a great lance to white knight Goretooth or Tydeus whenever possible.. good times
