No night, no dusk, no dawn, no rain, no fog, no gold gain, no xp gain, no upkeep cost,

just play the game and have fun.

It will be fun at first than everyone will get bored of running around in full plate on plated chargers and you will be the only one left, with nobody to bump with your elephant.

I've also imagined what a lower upkeep/payout server would be like, but I was hoping it'd be a co-op server, vs an army of bots or something.  Someone said most the custom maps don't support bots, but I was thinking you could have a modified version of c-rpg with specific maps for co-op.  Just use the same database but lower the rewards & upkeep from playing the co-op version.

Also could give new players a low-stress environment to grind up in.

There is stress in this game? I think I am not understanding you properly and thinking of something else.
I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.
The terror of my reign will live on in infamy, singing when they die like a dead man's symphony.

AFAIK, you achieve this effect by hosting your own server, which is not connected to the DB. So, go ahead and enjoy.

Meanwhile, in EU_crpg_1...

So like a version of CRPG Invasions would be cool. Waves of bots that get increasingly more difficult and numerous, but you can use your crpg player
