making a guide for noobs

at first when i started to play cRPG, it wasn't clear for me how to spend my points and what were decent classes and so on. i didn't know how to work with the website and it really bugged me at first, ofc now i'm an experienced cRPGer but i still think a guide should be made for the new people, just to explain battalions and that stuff, the stuff you won't find out on your own, asking things on the forum is an option too, but more difficult and not everyone wants to be a forum zombie i guess . a newsletter on the main site wouldn't be bad either, it could give the non-forum people nice intelligence about upcoming versions, new bannerpacks or new implimented stuff. i know it would be a mayor help for new people, and those are the ones that have to make this mod even greater right?

sticked in beginners help section.

but yes, we need, atleast, a tiny tutorial like: ''GO ON www.c-rpg.net and read forum!''
at  start of new comer game (like the password but bigger...  you can lose it soo easily!)
So the new response to ranged ragers is not "get a shield", it is "learn to chamber ranged nub!"

Hmm, I forgot to mention what Batt's do and how to sticky flags on yourself... I will do another update later, thank you.
I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.

Don't forget about the bug when you end the round alive with the flag on you.

As in you can not select that banner again for next round? I forgot about that =\ Thank you kindly. Awesome avatar by the way!

ahh, it was updated!this is a good guide, but like i said, not alot of new players are on the forum, and by the time they are, they probably already know almost all of this shit. so this should be made into a guide on the main site.

Be curious always, for knowledge will not acquire you; you
must acquire it.

A lot of people in the NA community know that Dach rages and in the process of his uncontrollable rage, he tends to kick people.

You've been warned!

The oldest guide on there is my ancient tactics guide. It mentions flag usage, even though it's hasn't been updated: http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,27.0.html

yeah, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be easier to aquire right. and for noobs it seems very difficult to aquire info as easy as others do, because they aren't on the forum.

a guide is nice. But it's also nice to talk to other players your friends etc to find out. And most importantly just look online google it. Many things come up that help noobies. But I think all players should play native first since thats the game. If they become beasts there when they come over to crpg their monsters here.

There's lots of good guides on the forum and the wiki but they all require a little digging to find.  It'd be nice if there was a link on the c-rpg.net login page that directed people to to the main page of the wiki instead of just the section on installation.  All the answers to the most frequently asked questions you see people asking in game are there, but there's nothing advertising it on the login page.

I haven't added anything to the wiki myself (lazy) but it might help to have a section for Strategus or even a separate wiki.  In the general discussion section there's a FAQ, Strategus for dummies and changelog to wade through but it might help to condense all that info.

Recently I saw a new player who just bought warband and went right into cRPG almost get poll banned because he didn't know there were rules against teamwounding.  When you log into the NA server there isn't anything explaining the rules on the message that pops up, so it might be good to add info about tking, teamwounding and ladder restrictions on there too.

It might also help to have some really short and concise visual tutorials, like a quick start guide slideshow that can be clicked through showing how to buy and equip equipment or how to create a skip the fun character.  I'm working on one right now that shows a step by step on how to craft and sell goods in Strategus.
