damn, I hadn't it expected this. Like many G. Martin readers I looked forward to the series, but the News of the fifth book was more important in my eyes, until yesterday. I couldn't resist watching the 15 minutes preview. Damn, this is good. all the details, the sound, the acting, the look of it. And all that with the story you know to come...

I think this has really the potential of raising fantasy to an whole new level of acceptance concerning quality, depth and art. Man, I can't wait.

If they gonna order more, which I don't doubt, there will be one season each book. so imagine LOTR with a much deeper story, more mature, less fantasy, 70 hours long. :D

edit: The only question is when (if?) Mr. Martin is finishing the last two books. He needed 20 years for the first five, according to this it takes him another 8 years. But who knows?

also, HBO doesnt only make awesome minis. You ever watched The Wire? Best thing there was so far on TV.

Oh yeah I loved that show. They also made generation kill x which was pretty good.

Now all they need to do, is to make a series about logan ninefingers :B
