Distar Castle issues

Ran into a few issues at Distar castle today. Hospitan was apparently unable to break walls with catapults, they fired about 10 point blank shots at the wall without any change, durability might just be higher than that?

On Defense, the AI decided to blow our entire gear budget on orange sarranid lady dresses, which are 120.72, is inbetween the vastly superior lamellar vests at 133.68 and.. I can't believe I'm saying it... but light strange at 103.56. Sarranid lady dresses were female only with 8 defense. Freaking useless

Our gear selection was also horrible. One handers were fine, but polearms were stuck with pitchforks and shortened spears, two handers had two choices of unbalanced axes.

Seems like castle battles are always messed up, used to be that attackers had spawns inside the castles that was never fixed, now it's spawns inside the castle(on certain maps) and the totally wasted money. Get it together devs I'm sure this isn't very hard to fix...

The fact that spawns inside castles have been around for more almost half a year now and still haven't been fixed really pisses me off.

Good thing castles are so expensive to attack it would have sucked if these things had been fixed already

Also I did try to build a catapult on the wall, she never appeared. Can someone with experience on catapult tell me if it's possible to build one on top of building? or only on flat ground?  :?

Concerning Catapults: You can't build them on walls. They will not work.

@Ufthak: As I was a defender, i didn't see any catapult usage, but, are you SURE that the catapult was firing rocks and that they HIT the walls? They changed the wall animation to be more like the total war series in which the wall slowly gets damage and then the wall just breaks. But, considering on of the patches broke the AI buying i wouldn't be surprised that they broke this too.

Concerning the Gate houses: Well this castle had gates, but after the gates was solid, immovable doors. Could you fix the gates and make them worthwhile to capture.

I had word from our engineer crew that they have shot with catapults at the castle but it did minimal damage to the walls, it did damage to the walls, but not enough to make it significantly useful.

Anders, I wouldn't know because I was defending with you. Just went off of what Arrowaine told me, they didn't want to make a report themselves because they didn't feel they'd be listened to, but I figured that horrible AI gear selection HAD to be reported.

yeah hospitaller did use catapul during the siege 1 take 8 mins to build up and a other 10 mins to be able to aim corectly to the wall betwen 5 to 8 hit they decide to get closer....finaly we get enghout close to shoot point blank we were at like 10 meter of the wall and finaly get like 10 shots on the front wall on the rigth of the gatehouse and nothing happen really....afther that a grey guys dfianly destroyed it. end of story so far catapult was not working. unforthunatly

I think gear got fixed, it wasnt like that in the drz siege today
that siege was with a castle that had less money, so the castle bought studded leather instead, so it doesn't show if the issue has been fixed yet.
