I can confirm that proper use of this weapon makes short work of tincans (I own one).  The high damage is enough, even though it is cut. 

A helpful thing is the 99 speed which will let you often spam people with heavier armor, who are slower.  They are helpless!  Aim for the face!

Okay, I'll bite. MW Bec for your axe. I was looking for an elite scimitar to satisfy my long range spamming needs but a shield breaker combined with my +3 Military Hammer would make my shielder a fairly versatile fighter.
