So I was thinking about other ways to make strat more immersive for the common player and I randomly came up with the idea of making the troops recruited in a fief upgradable (much like in SP), so when recruited they would be Recruit rank, then Regular, Veteran, Elite... These promotions for troops would then confer bonuses in battle... Before you select your equip, you choose what rank trooper to spawn as with the following bonus for as long as you play as that troop :
Recruit : No change
Regular : +1 IF and 10 WPF
Veteran : +2IF and 20 WPF
Elite : +3IF and 30WPF
These bonuses if regarded as unbalanced could possible be offset by having a higher ticket cost for higher level spawns... I think this would make battles slightly more involving as troops become slightly more valuable than just "meh we'll grind out some more later" and also, more importantly, gives the regular player in strat something to aim for, namely the right to use the higher level troops in battle... Clans could allocate who gets to play as what so as to seperate their best players and game changers from the rank and file.
