Making chat smaller

How do I add black background to chat letters so that chat is easier to read?

Now that would be good tweak.

My buddy asked me this same question.  Only solution I can think of would be to do a new UI layout mod.  I'll look into it.  I only say this because I don't see an actual "chat box".  It seems more like it just throws your chat in a certain position and then scales it down depending on how long the message is.

Also usefull to make it bigger, when you're playing on your 50inch TV and sitting 10 feet from it.
