that is what happens when you record video on the same computer you are playing on. You get much lower FPS than if you aren't running it.
With that being said, Wegame lags a bit less than fraps; but if you have any trouble running a game, don't record.

What else would you do?

The vast majority don't do this, but it is possible to record what you are doing on another computer via a capture card and a [powered] splitter of whatever your monitor input/etc. is. That way recording does not impact your computer at all! Requires two computers and such though.

Most people just have beastly machines and don't lag when they fraps instead.

Does capture cards come as external devices for use with laptops?

idk, Look them up. They were primarily made for recording what people did on consoles & for recording TV. Any input really. There are even some standalone ones I think now. Stuff changes over the years.

Personally, I'd spend the money making my computer better rather than a capture card, but they are pretty cool.

I record with a registered copy of FRAPS, its nice just push a key to activate and records whatever the video and audio is, trick is to record to a different hard drive than u are playing from since the videos start at gigabytes(even short ones)

Btw Ripperx is the one who told me that(it fixed the same problem I had and I play on a overclocked Intel quadcore (so it wasn't the system )

If you have disabled 'load textures on demand' and have more than 4GB of ram, your harddrive shouldnt be used at all during normal play, just map changes.
