any suggestions?

I am gen 2
Currently 12str 12 agil
sword and board and throwing.

I go back and fourth with the decision on which to raise almost every fight. At times I think if I hit harder I win there easy.. Others if I was just faster...
Gen 1 I ended 18/18 and felt good but limited in power and speed. thinking 15/21 this round but not sure which to make 15 and which to make 21. any suggestions
Or if you have other thoughts happy to hear them

seems to me you are neglecting some serious coversion points.
you are most likely putting at least 8 points towards something you should be converting points for
you should be ending at something like 18/21
or even 15/24

the worst thing you could do is flipflop on what you want to be.

Its much better to set a goal and stick with it, that way you can see if it works, and then make minor adjustments when you retire.

I'm a sword and boarder, level 30 25str/15agi.

Chances are, if you don't like what you have. You can learn to fight with it, then retire, then never go back to it.

I'd go with agility. You hit more times AND you have the footwork, as opposed to strength, where you project your attacks.

No sense hitting hard if you never hit.

I think before I retired last round I was
18str/18agl
6PS
6PT
6Shield
6Athletics
Rest in Weapon Master

I was mid damage mid speed. Not really strong either way.
Since I am 12/12 right now I need to decide real soon which to focus on from this point since I have enough in each at this point to use the gear I like the most. Now it is a matter of speed or power.

That's a good hybrid build you had, but if you aren't satisfied with how it played, you have to sacrifice something and specialize a little more.  Shield, Melee, and Throwing.  Narrow it down to 2 of them and see what you think.

true. Thanks for the help everyone.

If I decide to specialize one way or the other should I go for a 21/15 build or 24/12? I liked the 18/18 but want to try something a little different this time around to get a better idea of the pros and cons of the attributes.

If you haven't skilled 1h and shield yet, go 2h or pole + throwing...you save the points for shield and can convert them to get 3 more in agi:

(click to show/hide)

You can still carry a wooden shield against arrows, but you will probably swap it for another stack of throwing stuff sooner or later. I didn't bring any shield when I was 2h after a while, you learn to dodge archers. It's also possible to go with 4 WM only, since throwing doesn't need a lot WPF. You could then raise athletics one more, to even better evade archers.

Well, generally, going for more strength and powerstrike makes you do more damage and thus get more kills on average in a battle, whilst high agi makes you better in a 1v1 situation.
