Nordic Champion vs. Sarranid Cavalry Sword - Needs a fix asap

Hi guys,

Let's look at the stats of these two (after the last patch):

Sarranid Cavalry Sword  weight 1.35
Cost: 5308
requirement 8
spd rtng 95
weapon length 105
swing damage 33, cut
thrust damage 19 pierce

Nordic Champion's Sword  weight 1.35
Cost: 7842
requirement 7
spd rtng 97
weapon length 102
swing damage 32, cut
thrust damage 21 pierce

Seriously? 2500 gold more for 1 less cut damage, 3 less range, 2 more speed and pierce? If I wanted to stab, I'd go espada.

Thing is, pre-patch, nordic champion was already fine, it got nerfed from 34 damage to 33 damage. Now it just doesn't fit that well anymore. It used to be the best slashing 1hander, but now other swords are better.

Sarranid is now the best slashingand cost effective sword, espada is best pierce, and the side sword or knightly arming is the best hybrid.

Solution? Buff Nordic Champions damage back to 33, that would fix it.

In theory, later weaponry (knightly arming sword) should be more effective and more expencive.
In reality, earlier and later swords both cut and pierce with same results, according to Weapons that made Britain.

NCS is semi usable as infantry weapon. SCS is too slow for my book.

Both are cavalry swords, SCS is more focussed at it. Most swords longer than 100 are, espada is exception.

And your point is? Like UrlUkur said, anything above 100 range is good.

Nordic Champion was fine as it is, revert it back to old damage.

The most funny thing is that the masterwork knightly and masterwork ncs is exactly the same... oh wait, knighly got 4 more stab damage... and is cheaper...
But the devs know... So I won't whine... that much!

Have you noticed SC's stab? Stabbing someone with it and 7ps does like no damage compared to other 1hs that can stab,even with 7PS the stab bounces off alot.

Nordic Champion is more expensive than Knightly Arming and Sarranid Cavalry, yet doesn't get better stats at all!

+1c slash than KAS -3p, -1c from SCS +2 speed +2p. It's quite good. If we start discussion about looms, well, that is looms problem, not NCS.
