Gauging interest in a "Formation Battles" day for NA.

Yes, there will be a grace period to form up before the battle begins. Since we are going to be bringing together a bunch of people that aren't used to working together, it'll take a bit to get people formed up.

Any thoughts on when we might do this?  Also, it seems like this would require some kind of screening to make sure all those involved are willing to follow orders or it would quickly fall apart.

Perhaps we should "advertise" this in some of the NA servers since there are no doubt a lot of people who never read the forums.  I have a feeling there is a lot more interest than you may think if we can get the message out.

Just set this up like the Huge Multi Clan EU Tourney was set up. We never had any problems with commanders needing people kicked for not following orders(It was more or less people not following orders because they can't understand what their commander was saying to begin with, and NA doesn't really have this problem).

Shield wall doesnt serve much purpose when people can walk right thru them and you can barely keep yourself alive, let alone block ranged for others.  unless you can do it on a strat server that gives the +shield skill for having multiple shielders around.

Another tool for commanders might be the battalion flags. I've seen them used before, but I sure don't know how they work. Is there a FAQ or a thread that explains their use?

This was just to gauge interest, sort of "suggestions" post to get some people motivated to take this and run with it. Looks like around 90% of the people that heard about were interested, so anyone that decides to go forward with this will definitely be doing the community a service. Between 3 kids, school, work, a crazy ass dog, and "round robin" flu swapping ( ) I just don't have time to organize something like this.

I had considered hosting something like the Huge Multi-Clan EU Tourney after I reffed for that and saw just how awesome it was. I still think it would be a great idea, I'm just not sure now is the best time to do it.
