Please fix horses.

Please fix the horses so that the riders shield or downward block does not magically protect the horse from thrust damages.  There has to be a way of extending the horses hit boxes past the riders shield.  So that when you actually go for the horse the rider can't block the damage with his shield.

“Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless - like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.” - Bruce Lee

Yeah, if you aim for the horse near the rider, ofc the rider can block it. Basic parrying. Aim lower and at the horses head and flank. It's not the game, it's just you...

Actually LordRichrich, that is not always the case at all.
I stab at the LEGS of the horse, y'know -- the bottom farthest away from the rider. They still block me all the time. On MANY occasion when a horse jumps over me and I stab up into its gut, the guy will block the horse's belly!

Most ridiculous thing ever.
Also, I have declared myself #1 NA hybrid thrower
Formerly known as Marathon.
As an NA admin, I am the most laid back and concerned with the ~fun of the game~ above all other factors. I've also been super inactive since Summer 2012. University takes most of my time, but I still find some time to play when i can.

Me too, i slash or stab at the legs of the horse and sometimes the rider can block it in a wierd ridiculous way with his shield or a down block.

I've never played a server where people split up as much or as often as on EU1.  No wonder range is having a field day.

I've noticed it some times happens when I'm shooting horses with arrows. But not to the extent you guys are talking about.

uhm, this seems to be a bit random at times. Frankly though i've noticed this more with 1h blocking. When someone with a lance is blocking, if i aim at the legs of the horse i get a hit, with a 1h blocking, i still get blocked there sometimes.

This is true. But anyway if you really want to do things seriously you should be aiming for the head of the horse, which isn't protected, no matter what.

I've seen a couple of times pikes going through the horses head and blocked by the riders upheld shield. But I strongly suspect that was because the pikeman timed it wrong and released it after the horses head was already past the pikehead.
This game isn't about being skillful as much as its about saying things in general chat that enrage people who then go to murder you but in their rage they make dumb mistakes which gets them killed.

Hitting horses is kind of fickle when the rider is blocking--I've noticed this as a rider, and as a person stuck using my legs to get around. I'll often block a lance thrust at me, and hear the "clunk" sound of a successful block, but my horse will still take damage (I wont, though). Or, as OP says, I'll aim at the horse, away from what I would expect the magical block force-field area to be, but nonetheless will have my poke deflected.

It would be nice to have actually see the hitboxes of both horse and rider, as well as the "magical block force field area" that I suppose appears when a rider holds down-block. There may be overlap somewhere, or something.

the same goes for cav vs. cav - often when you aim for horse vs. an opponent who just downblocks, he manages to block it :(

It's not a shield issue only. I've seen it happen tons of times without a shield. I was sure that armagan had this on his fix list at some point. Not sure if the same happens in native still.
Why is everybody telling me to think? I think, I just don't show it.
