So when you apply for a faction, it automatically accepts you, gives you the faction colour and name.

No it doesnt.  Someone within the faction with a certain rank has to accept the request

Set his rank to 0, faction ban!

It automatically gives u 0 rank and faction's colour. All you have to do is decline his application. If someone has already accepted him, faction leader or another member with 10 rank should give him 0 rank again and then decline his application.
