Render Methods HELP!

ok i have pixel shaders, window mode, show framerate, force vertical sync, load textures on demand and force single threading

which ones do i need enabled/disabled to improve my FPS because i have a very good graphics card and shit and im running on DX7 and i still get shitty FPS drops and in general shit FPS

anyone help?

EDIT: when the server changes map like 70% of the time i lose connection loading the next map that's happened for a while now and i lose my Multi and i have to restart the game how do i fix this?

Turn off vsync o.O.

To be honest, you should play around with the settings, but stuff like load textures on demand and vsync aren't needed, and might mess with your performance. Same goes for force single threading.

Check them out one-by one, see what makes the fps drop.

Also, more details on the specs please. Even if the warband engine is so crappy and random, hardware obviously matters.

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual
Core Processor 4600+
2.41 GHz, 3.25 GB of RAM

I suggest you play on DX9 on medium-high settings. You seem to have the same problem as me, I have same fps no matter if I'm using DX7 or DX9.

Forcing single threading is more likely to lower your fps with your dual core processor. Although if you crash all the time it can lower the amount of crashes. Actually I just read that Warbands multithreading is bad so you'll want to test this.
Turn V-sync off should give more fps, only turn it on if you have significant screen tearing.


What's the percent the game is giving you? It seems to run fine at 70% and above.

Make sure there isn't something like a virus scanner going on in the background that is just eating up your processor/ram. Also clean the dust out of your computer if you haven't within a month.

Check in video options, it's on the right side of the screen.

I have more than 100 but it still drops bellow playable levels sometimes.
