I might just "scale" down to scale armor then (haha, pun on words ) and choose a helmet apropriate to it. The warhammer has a renaissance style to it so I thought that plate would go good with the looks. But, in the end, gameplay is more important. I want a shield that can stand a beating and im guessing the shields you mentioned focus more on speed than durability. If I'm right about that then ill have to pass on those

Depends on what you mean by "durability".

They last longer against weapons that aren't shieldbreakers than the heavier shields do.

A shield like the Huscarl or Heavy Board will last longer against shieldbreakers.

All this depends on your playstyle too though. For an agressive shielder with lower shield skill, I would go for a heater. If I was an agi build like Matey, I'd probably grab a Huscarl too.

If you use a heater and you know how to manual block for when you go against an axe, your shield will last forever.

i got a masterpiece heavy round shield and i like it a lot. good speed, coverage, hp/armor and at 7.5 weight pretty light. an axe still blows it away in a few hits but that's pretty much all shields. triple loomed it's basically a faster, lighter, cheaper, slightly smaller huscarl.

i tried the heaters but i didn't like how they don't protect my sides very well compared to round shields

I can't manual block worth shit  :D. I have gotten better playing my 1st gen 2h build, but still nothing compaired to some. So by durability i mean the one that can take the most hits, whatever the weapon, before breaking and making me use my pathetic manual blocking skills

If that's the case, you're better off with a Huscarl, Heavy Norman or Heavy Board and a high shield skill.

I recently was turned on to the heavy heather shield, more hp than the hussy, good resistance, way more speed. I like it so much I got me a masterwork one, cheers.
