GFX Lag on player join

I've got a problem when playing online with this mod. Every time a new player joins the server I get a split second gfx lag spike. I guess it's as the game loads the new players equipment and face and whatnot. It's just incredibly frustrating when you're dueling with someone and the lag spike gets you stabbed or killed.

I'm on a 2.6ghz dual core with 2GB of RAM and a GT240 geforce gfx card.

Has anyone had this problem and knows a fix for it other than going into direct x 7 mode???

When you first open M&B there is that little launcher, go into configuration and the video part and turn OFF load textures on demand. See if that helps, it does for most people.
