Any network experts?

I've been experiencing severe lag problems for over a month, with the last week filled with random disconnects and lag freezes.

Called up my ISP, they were having trouble at a local CMTS and fixed it shortly after. Now the random disconnects are gone (they happened due to packet loss), but the high ping/lag still remains.

It's been happening to me since the last big patch was released (slot change), so about 2 months (?) now. I don't know if it is connected however, but I remember I used to have a stable ping of 70-85 or so. Now it rarely drops below 110, with the average being around 125 and highest 150 D:

Ran antivirus full pc scan, no shit. ISP says the signal is fine. So I'm thinking the PC is the problem... Maybe something is filling up my bandwidth, dunno what. Tried some packet tracing with Wireshark, but I'm completely lost there :D

I'm on a 13Mb DL/ 1,5 Mb UL line (without router).

Oh also, I noticed something, if I look at the back of the PC where the UTP cable goes in (motherboard integrated network card), I notice theres one orange light and one RED light. Now I'm not even sure if that red led used to be green, maybe it's trying to tell me something.

I am desperate D:
Any suggestion on how to check stuff or what to try will help.

Thanks in advance,

the Brigade's handsomest.

Your computer is trying to say....

(click to show/hide)

...I was having DC problems before too. TONS! Every 1-10 minutes I'd D/C... After a reinstall of Windows though all my shit fixed. Do you have any torrented games or anything? Even if youre virus free....IDK why that would affect it but it seemed to affect mine.

Reinstalling Windows will be one of the last options :)
But I'm not having DC problems, just BAD ping/latency/lag. I used to have better.

If you think it is your computer you could make a local network and try to ping it.
Into a console type (I don't know how this looks in newer windows though)

ping -t -l [number] [ADDRESS]

Where number is how many bytes you send, try different sizes, and address is the IP of the other computer in your network. Then leave it running for a while and you can see how many packets are lost and how high your ping is (packet loss should be zero and ping low ofc).

I've tried:
pinging
Tracing
No router
No antivirus
Scanned for malicious software and shit
netsh winsock reset
update network drivers
switching utp cables
and much more

I havent tried:
reinstalling warband
format pc

I see my ping is sometimes even 80, but then jumps to 120 and stays there for a while.
Could it be some Warband settings? Because I don't recall having such a high ping on EU server on other games.

Do you have a second machine you can use? If so then just ping Google from both machines, if the ping isn't the same it's your system, if it is the same, it's your ISP. Maybe they changed something so there are more "stations" on your way to the cRPG servers.
I get high pings and packet loss too sometimes (every friday it seems...) and it's definitely not my system, because even my ISP said they see the packet loss when pinging my router.

Yes, just one step further and I'd be in the worst, Croatia.
