XP and Gold system idea

The cure all to bellyaching, bitching, and moaning is right below.

FOR BATTLE AND SIEGE. SEE BELOW FOR DM/Duel/DTV

to start, my system will reward players for team play, and length of involvement, as opposed to wins or loses, a forced gameplay.
this will be accomplished by...

1.)Xp and Gold managed by participation points

simply put, you join a server, and after joining every team win you have will give you a point that lasts till the battle is over.
this point is equal to 12,500 xp, and 1,250 gold, so lets say you have a good game and you win 6 rounds, thats 61,500 and 6,150 gold for the end of the game;

the counter starts when you join; if you join at the end, you only get the point for THAT win. not all the wins previously.

this is a lesser amount than x5 for 20 minutes, which is roughly the amount of time spent on a battle, if not more. so yes, you will be making LESS. even if you managed 10 wins, thats still less than x5 for 30 minutes.

oh btw, remember that little warning saying "multiplier not justified"?  participation points will only be given if there are 7 people on each side.

2.) XP and Gold Bonuses

XP given will 625, and gold will be 75.  20 kills would amount to 12,500 xp, and 1500 gold. now isnt that fair?

DM/Duel/DTV

for starters, these modes wont charge upkeep because they are not significant amounts of gold to begin with. if you believe you could abuse this system see the FAQ

XP given will be 625, and gold will be 75.  50 kills would amount to 12,500 xp, and 1500 gold.

DTV would give 300 xp, and 30 gold per kill.  100 kills (30 minutes or more of solo gameplay) would give 30,000 xp and 3,000 gold.

FAQ

Wouldn't that be exploitable?(battle)

Battles are almost always set to 30 minutes, and even if they aren't, time is no longer relative; wins are. and even if the win limit was 15, it would still balance out over all; a battle game lasting to 15 wins is unheard of; I've never seen it, have you?

In Siege, people regularly get to 50+ kills; that would break the game.(siege)

its also true that in siege that both sides are deadlocked without a timelimit to capture flag/defend flag. this usually results in the
wins for each team not to go over 5; and considering that the game mechanic is sligtly nerfish, this would balance out. also, if you got 50 kills in siege, you're a BAMF.

Kill bonuses would reward rambo's and tincans...

Sorry, but no.  considering that most rambo's are tincans, they'd end up paying more in upkeep than they would make with kill bonuses. and if, perchance, the ramboer was NOT a tincan, and he managed to get alot of kills (+10), it still would not be unreasonable; it would reward him for killing. thats how teams win anyway, by killing the enemy. no matter WHAT the gamemode is.

ABOOZE ABOOZE ABOOZE

explain with numbers why and how you can abuse these things, since i took the time to explain how they are NOT.

What do you mean by "end of the game"? Like, the map? So, the ticks are at the very end of the map?

Sorta confused, sorry.

yes, payment is at the end of the map, where your participation points are cashed in. no more tics.
