I agree with this post wholeheartedly. Greatly decrease the accuracy of low wpf xbows while leaving higher wpf the same.
One suggestion for the requirements, however:
Arbalest req - 125
Heavy req - 75
Crossbow req - 110
Light x req - 75
hunting req - 35
Why make the heavy xbow have a lower wpf req? It would give people a reason to use it over the arbalest, introducing more variety in what xbows are used.
No other weapon requires a minimum WPF (except throwing, and look what happened there), so this is a bad idea.
People (2handers and polearms), if you don't like ranged, (A) Change your class to sword and board. As a shieldless build, you will always be plagued by ranged players. That comes with the territory. (B) If you chose to remain 2hander or polearm, then AVOID ranged characters. If you ever see yourself rushing out in the front of your team into the other, and you see a wall of their archers aiming toward you, you're doing something wrong. Find another route, follow behind shielders, protect your own team's ranged..Just don't become an inverse porcupine (it was your own damn fault anyway).
I'm a polearm and I know how bloodthirsty we get, but we need to learn to either wait out the battle a little bit until it's more viable for your character to move into the fight. That, or use less direct routes to close in (hopefully with a handful of teammates) or routes with more cover....
Play your strengths. Shit, get your own crossbow if it's that bad. That's what I did!
