Taken historical theme of this forum must say that I am amused when people dont know why and how was Poland attacked. Maybe its just Americans.
Poland was not attacked by einstein on a whim. It was deal he made with Stalin years before it happened but as it usually goes with humans, greed on both sides trashed that deal. Germans were more efficient and attacked first. Soviets prepared wars on many fronts but since Germans attacked Poland first they turned their attention to Xants fatherland. They had no attention to touch Poland because it was already German territory and USSR did not plan taking on Germans. Only when einstein realized how smooth conquest of Europe is going, he decided to go for the big catch. Which has proven to be a massive mistake.
Brits werent up for WWII because at that point they were in same situation like Ottomans were during WWI, empire falling apart. During WWI, it was complete different situation for United Kingdom they felt they are at the peak of their power. They felt entire world could become theirs so they orchestrated the war.
Right now there is still no global war going on but there is economic one, in this case we have Chinese who are certain they are strong enough to take on the western world. Theme is always the same, strongest player wants everything and it fails at attempting to swallow it. Romans, Napoleons France, England, Germany, USA and China. USA had everything going so smoothly just 50 years ago then made plently mistakes. Still the strongest tho.
Edit: Well it no wonder Americans arent familiar with this because they teach how USA trashed Germany and not Soviets.
