It's not just the trails, it's the fish-eyed FOV. That's why everything looks distorted. Some people would rather the screen look like the start of a peyote trip if it gives them a few degrees of extra vision on either side. I also think it looks bad, but I think that about people turning off shadows too. Default settings all the way (except for mouse swing direction, always inverse).

It's probably fps related then, because when you look at my vid I have FOV all the way up and personally don't see any glitches.

heh thought so, high fov on more than 30' monitors or tv is a good option and vsync on give less stuttering, got question u linked gpu to tv by hdmi 1.2 cabel or dp?(nice rig tv)

I hooked the TV via HDMI cable, and I have a separate monitor also set up with a mini DVI cable.
