I love hiking barefoot in the summer, feels good as heck. I don't run though so I have no opinion on the whole barefoot running thing. Humans have been wearing shoes for a long-ass time, although nothing like the last half a century of sports medicine/anatomy/running shoe innovation spit out. My favorite footwear for biking and lifting are paper-thin, flat as fuck supportless worn out Converse sneakers so I'd probably be in the "freeballing your toes" camp if I was a runner.
It might be easier to just clear the damn debris regularly on your running circuit rather than invent "almost naked" shoe sock things. And then you're doing a nice polite thing for your community too?? Haha wtf am I talking about this is stupid just wear sockshoes.
