I was quite surprised when somebody actually bought them useless cards when I put them on the marketplace to see what would happen. As far as I can see, people aren't even interested in making money off of them. They want to "craft" badges and turn their Steam profiles into a Facebookish festivity. Gaben surely knows how to keep people busy.
