Yeah, what Banks said. For thrust weapons, speed bonus is a more effective way to increase damage than power strike, so get the minimum strength to meet the requirements, max PS, then put everything else in WM and Athletics.
Just remember that speed bonus works both ways, so learn which weapons/players usually "outstab" you, and don't try to attack them until you block once first. Otherwise you will find yourself getting one-shot by greatswords and the like if you run into their stabs at full speed.
With 1h thrust, the key is never actually aim at your opponent. You always want to be dragging your thrust to your right and/or down. Dragging left is slow and often glances, so I don't recommend it. If you actually aim at your target, you will glance at medium/short range, so stab into the air then drag into your opponent's head. It looks incredibly stupid, but that's how Warband combat works.
