First, make your character main.If it is click that link : http://strategus.c-rpg.net/index.php?key=80Z2VuZXJpYw%3D%3D80

save that link to login strategus again 

About faction thing, you need to see a char from that faction near you on the map.Then click ' you spot the party of (a char from a faction that you want to apply) ' and click: 'faction: faction name' then click ' apply to join this faction'

I dont know what do you expect when you in normal servers. Chosing banner could be fine but I couldnt see the point. Sorry
