Change HB and LHB to cut stab

Why does the long hafted blade or hafted blade have pierce damage on the cut?  It should clearly be cut damage...

I'll agree when you give it bonus against shield, along with the falchion

Falchion was designed with an axe in mind, powerful strikes with a large blade so you can cleave through chainmail and shields alike. It's basically just an axe in sword form, the blade is wide enough to work like an axe.

Give HB and LHB bonus against shield, then i support :P

The hafted blades are OP already as they are. Fast, long, high damage 4D polearms usable by infantry and cavalry. Throw in a bonus versus shield and you have a lengthier version of the Long Axe. I agree with CrazyCracka, I think that the hafted blades should have cut thrusts as it both balances the weapon and makes more sense in regards to how the blade is shaped.

At least give falchions bonus against shield, because axe-sword

Not like anyone actually uses that weapon past level 10 anyways

Is 40c considered high cut at +3 now?  I mean that's just the same as a long sword.

I'd still call 40c high, it's obviously not the highest, but 40+ is my definition of high tbh.

+1 for cut stab, thought it was cut already :p.

Hafted blade makes sense, but LHB and many similar weapons are quite ambiguous on whether it should be pierce or cut. I think if LHB is changed to cut, all of those weapons should be, too. (Sycthe, bardiche weapons). Balance-wise, it's tough to say whether that would be a good idea, but for hafted blade it seems fine in all cases to me.

We all know falchion sucks.

You...
I loot corpses of their golden teeth.
But he'll be around somewhere between Heaven and The Devil, because neither of them will take him in, and he'll be farting loudly and singing a filthy song.

i'll be there at around

Years of having to use them (and simple swords) in strat battles, anyone would get mad :D

So spear having pierce swings doesn't bother you as much as the hafted blades?  :D

To me, the hafted blades having pierce stab makes perfect sense.
Take another look at the blade itself:

The pierce swing of the Spear makes perfect sense. Two little pointy things on the sides.

Anyway, what San said. Making it cut would mean that loads of other weapons have to be switched to cut as well.

HB however is pretty cutty if you stab with it, so that would be fine.
For all the non-believers, look no further than this thread for proof that while strat battles are won/lost in NA3/EU3, strat wars are won and lost on the forums.

Pierce swings don't rear me horse  :o

It was more of a rage post than anything, but I do think it's kind of dumb that the hafted blades have pierce stabs.

I think it would be fine to make Hafted Blade/LHB cut stab and leave the other similar weapons with pierce stab (but I'd be okay with having bardiches and the like be cut too).

Only if horse bumps bump the rider.

And horses colliding into anything result in the horse taking damage.

And riders being thrown from horses when colliding with an environmental object.
