So I did a shielder last gen and really had fun with it, trying two-handed this gen, and doing a lot worse.
Going to play a shielder again on my main, and keep the 2-Handed.Pole on an alt for training purposes.
With this new shielder I wanted to try and go with a heavier shield, but I'm decreased shield speed is a concern of mine. I will admit, the shield can be a bit of a crutch, probably why I like it so much, and with all the ranged around, it makes it easier than my 2-hander.
I've heard that t he shield speed can be affected by the amount of shield skill you have, as well as the shield itself. Does anyone know what goes into calculating blocking speed, and what I should be looking for in a shield? Last gen I played exclusively with the Elite Cavalry shield and I wanted to mix it up this gen, maybe play something that's not heraldic. I prefer the 21/15 build, so that leaves me with 5 shield skill, if that's something to consider.
