How to model cRPG items?

Need a guide, tool. Don't want to make new stuff but certain pieces piss me off so hard I want to fix them. I'm talking about armors like Mail Shirt with Fur, where very few boots fit the model.

Get OpenBRF and export whatever mesh you want to edit and open it up in the 3D modeling program of your choice. They probably have actual step by step guides and stuff on the taleworlds forum.

Blender is free 3D modelling software. You might need something like GIMP (also free) to edit textures if you don't want to do it inside Blender. There are guides on the Taleworlds forum, but I'm sure you already looked there first.

First step get openBRF on the taleworlds forum to get your items into mount and blade.

Second step get Photoshop cs2 for texturing since it's free because they don't authenticate anymore, or GIMP but I really hate GIMP.

Third step get a modeling software that's free like Wings3D or Blender.

Fourth step is to get Notepad++ for if you want to put your items in-game and test them out. It makes it much easier to put the code in.

Fifth step look up some guides on modeling and texturing and don't give up. Tinker around with the programs and look up every guide possible.

PM me if you like, i'm not a great modeler or texturer but I can help you with any questions you have.

I'm not sure if you edited your post or if I misread I but that's even easier. All you really need is openBRF if you want to adjust armors a little bit. sometimes i'm too lazy to model something for an armor piece so I just rip pieces from another armor piece and slap it onto the desired piece of armor. This may cause texture problems though and it could get a little complicated but it's easy if you choose the right pieces. Alternatively you can just scale certain parts of the armor, like the skirt on the mail shirt with fur, to fit better with boots. I did that with the Byrnie once. As I said if you have questions PM me.
