Heavy round shield on horseback

Been using a heavy round shield and a war hammer for a while now. I finally got 5 riding and grabbed a lance with my regular gear and went off. After. A little while of stabbing people in the back as the usual cav player a long spear caught me in front of about 100 archers and I knew I was fucked. I blocked down to atleast stop the long spear with my lance and all of a sudden my heavy round shield on my back was filled with arrows.

I tested this a little after and about 1/3 the rounds you spawn with a shield that is unusable on horseback glitched.

1) you can catch projectiles while the shield is on your back.
2)still have to block the given direction from melee.
2)no way of knowing if player is abusing glitch or not.(only shows the on back animation)
4)there were two two's
Only tested with heavy round shield because its all that I use, it could happen with more.

Is it catching the arrows or are the arrows doing no damage and sticking?  A shield on your back does reduce damage from ranged attacks where the shield is, and if you are on cav riding away, it can seem like it is catching arrows.

Just something to think about, not disproving anything :p

The shield is on your back while you face archers. The shield takes the damage, mine was slightly damaged(I got to automatically have my shield after my horse died) from taking arrows from the front while it was "on my back"
