Instead of creating this useless topic you just could have made an unban request, saying that you feel sorry and that you only hit him with fists. I am sure Fips would have unbanned you/reduced the ban.
I PMed right after that, and he practically said this: oh but he went all this way just to ban you so i think you deserve it kthxbai.

this is the message i received

Well, if he goes through the effort of reporting you and making a screen of it and post a ban-thread i think 1 day off is okay, because he obviously didn't like what you were doing.
Pro-tip: Only troll with people you know won't do anything, Tazman is definitely not one of them.
Tseng: Used to the bitter taste of refusal, this only serves to reinforce his greatest life lession yet.
Cloud: And that is?
Tseng: Bitches, man.

Admins shouldn't be allowed to make decisions in ban reqs against or by their clanmates.
Even worse, the banthread doesn't even follow the banthread rules, as can be seen here: http://forum.melee.org/eu-(official)/ban-request-requirements-read-this-first!/

BAN REQUEST FORM:
(click to show/hide)
6. Multiple Screenshots
(click to show/hide)

Also you can't possibly be banned for calling someone a bundle of sticks once...
In a case like this with only one screenshot it is clear that nothing should've been done unless several witnesses who weren't HRE stepped forward, and heck, even No_Rules, who was on that server at the time, confirmed it was punches and therefore not really real team attacks, the screen also shows that nightmare stopped punching him after being m'd.
1H stab is the fastest, strongest and longest 1H animation. There's no reason NOT to use it in all instances. I don't know if it's OP, but it's boring. 1H used to be fun because you had a fast (left), long (right) and the most devastating attack (stab) and had to choose the best attack for each occasion.

What? Like Zlisch said no way you should deal with your own clan members ban requests, this is not a massive deal but you should really watch it doesn't happen again beacuse it will look fishy, be smart enough and ask a fellow admin to look into the matter.
And now he can't play because of "common sense" and he doesn't understand how this common sense works

very well, i think i should be more careful in future. its just that it doesnt really seem fair, especially when i meant no harm. if i drew my weapon and started to hack on him, then fine ban my ass as much as you want, i am griefing and deserve that, but it was only prancing. heck some people attacked me in battle after round was nearly over, and i took the joke and dueled.

fisting each other is a common crpg courtesy and an act of friendly communication.  a banthread initiated because of that should get the banthread creator banned,  as he needs time to think about proper crpg etiquette  and his place in the community.

Yes, I know from whence I came! Discontented as a flame, Upon myself I live and glow. All I grasp like lightning flashes, All I leave behind is ashes
Flame I am - that much I know!

well, if he wants you to stop punching him, i guess he has the fullest right to report it. It's just a warning from his side, saying: 'man stop this shit, I'm not in the mood'.
If you are punching someone, I guess you are in a quite happy state of mind, so you shouldn't bother if some people don't want to 'play with you'.

A guy was hitting me earlier and doing very little damage, but I got annoyed from the stuns and the sound so I reported him too. He stopped, that's it. no drama.
You can clearly see that he stopped hitting after the reports reach 4/5.

Us oldmy old friends already know to stay away from Tazman cuz he's raging like a 6yrs old but that doesn't make the ban any better.
Especially Fips' argument "It's Tazman, you better not fool with him!" should have given him enough insight to not ban and just warn instead.

Anyway, annoying that things like this happen once in a while and yes, handling ban requests from clanmates is unlucky and best be avoided... but in the end no real harm done. Maybe it can be a lesson for the future: Don't handle clannies ban requests and don't trust HRE-Chief of Police Tazman with anything really :P

This.
Punching serves an actual purpose. Either it's just friendly "Hello! I am bored and what about you?" to fool around a little or to make someone realize that he just did something stupid, e.g. after a teamhit you go the archer responsible and punch him once.
In all my time, I've never been punched with really bad intent.
One thing tho: Keep in mind who you are punching. Archer and Ninja for example use mainly squishy builds with low armor and low health. Punching as strength whore with plated gloves does quite a lot of damage! Doesn't work for Tazman tho since he is HRE siege player = high armor and high strength

i dont punch peasants for this reason, as i know i can actually do some damage, which is not good. unless they are on other team :D

ok, I actually finally understood what this is all about, i never saw the ban request untill just now.
I know understand that this all happened in front of my nose, i even nudged taz after the reports.

Let's say it like this: taz had the fullest right to report you if he was annoyed or if he was getting some damage, but making a ban request for it is indeed quite stupid.

That's all I have to say, I hope your ban is over soon!
