A monthly fee for a small game like this would never pay out PLUS Taleworlds would request some payments as well I bet (after all warband is still their game and a mod doesnt make a new game).

I just don't know where to begin:
First off, this is a MOD. It is based on an existing commercial game, which renders it somehow illegal to make money off of it in the proposed way.

Secondly, the developers are all devout players of this game. They put their efforts in it for the love of the game itself and the community alike.

Third point is that you can always make donations to them if you wish to aid them. Does this not sound like an "optional monthly fee" to you?


I can see that your will is good and all you wanted to do was put on the table some supportive suggestion, but it really doesn't make sense.

@To everyone else, i'll admit this wasn't very thought out, but things don't always need to be, the baseline here is that what CRPG developers have made created in combination with the taleworlds game, is free product much better than anything i've actually ever paid for. At the end of the day, I just wish there was a M&B MMO, and I guess that's never going to happen. I love the encouraged social aspects of an MMO but they lack the dynamic and thrilling combat of M&B to keep me playing. If those two were ever mixed I could get a str crutch gf, get on wellfare, and never leave the house again.

Oh well, a man can dream.

if I could had any wish fulfilled in terms of gaming, it would be to have a MMO based on the M&B combat system and the Conquest of Calradia, attacking, defending, sieges and so on. However, since that's probably not going to happen, let's work with what we already have.

Tbf, an MMO with MB style combat does sound completely amazing. You totally lose me at the "let's turn cRPG, a mod, into that". If Battlegrounds is in any way similar to this idea, I'll be very happy. Strat tried it more or less, but the fact that it's browser based and not integrated directly into the game doesn't make it feel very MMO.

I liked your enthusiasm. But yea, your suggestion made like zero sense. Pay optionally a monthly fee for a mod thats free and that can be  donated to(aka paying optionally).

Also I doubt you are the first person to think that MMO M&B would be epic. I think everybody has thought about it at some point. If you think hard enough you start realising that the MMO as a genre is complete shit that even M&B combat wouldnt save and you drop the idea.
