Why is Smegmar Banned?

Smegmar was globally banned but he doesn't know why. He asked me to create a thread asking an admin to explain why he was banned and try to get him unbanned. He has been having trouble with his computer and has been using different computers lately so there might have been a misunderstanding and somebody could have banned him for multiaccounting.

The ban reason being "RL image griefing"

Not going to lock this as I do think Canary should respond to Smegmar about the reason (this is news to me).
I'd recommend Smegmar post in the unban essays board or push for an essay unban, but he is globally banned, so, not sure what the protocol is for this.

Banned from the game altogether for an image posted on the forums about a month ago, no warning(about the ban). Another shining example of how great of a community Crpg is and how hard the admins/Devs try to make this a great game....

He was warned/muted for this already...why the retro ban?

It doesn't seem like an in-game ban should be the punishment for something that occurred on the forums. Smegmar was already muted on the forums. Shouldn't that be the end of the issue?

Well, RL image griefing is a pretty serious offense:

If Smegmar was already warned and/or muted for something that happened a few months ago, this needs to be brought up. I'm unsure if this is the case, so, again, Smegmar will need to talk to the person who posted the ban- Canary.

I was not sure before, and only got clarification recently - that's why the ban was so retroactive - real life trolling on the forums, particularly the posting of images against a person's consent, can be punishable by in-game bans. People have been permabanned for this before. It's that serious.

Don't post pictures of other people in the community here.

The ban will stay up for a while, but won't be permanent. I will post again with a definite unban date.

Smegmar's Reply: I really didn't aim to attack anybody with my post, I was just trying to get some cheap laughs off of a stupid picture with bird poop jokes. My intentions weren't to hurt anyone. I thought this picture was dead and burried as I was muted and warned for it about a month ago. My apologies.
