Fourteen out of the eighteen players on the defending team were banned.

The other 4 of us were already dead and couldnt respawn because we had run out of tickets NOT delaying, and fighting while using TACTICS(such as trying to separate them from each other and RUNNING when we had no chance of victory. Is that illegal? we had all of us alive and we ran when we could not win a punching fight so we could survive and group up with a teammate to do better.) I know this was already posted but its important to know that the bans happened while I believe at least 11/14 of those left alive were either at our flags or directly fighting over them. In fact why didnt the admin do anything about the guy with 5 deliberate teamkills?(see heroins pictures)

Teams tactics in Strat battles are up to the team. This is Strategus, and the attacker and defender are supposed to know what they are doing. If the opponent does not like the tactics, it is a problem of the opponent.

If the admin interferes and kicks/bans people it means he is trying to influence the decision of one of the teams on how the team runs the battle. And let's face it - usually the admin is IN the team who claim that the opponent is delaying...

There is a really thin line here on what is the allowable tactics and what is the infringement of the delaying rule. Regrouping may take some time. Organization of the battle may take some time. Finally, the attacker may want to lose on the best possible conditions.

The delay rule is fine for crpg. In Strategus you have the battle time limit for that.

In addition the delaying rule only applies at the end of the round.

In battle the timer is there to force the two teams into conflict quickly, only when a battle is glitched does the timer run itself all the way down. So the end of the round in regular battle is when one team has all but been eliminated save a few people avoiding conflict to leech multipliers, or because they are cowards.

In strat the entire point, if defending, is usually to fight until the timer runs out and then drive the attackers off. There is quite a bit that can go on after the timer runs down. Therefor the end of the round is not until the timer has completely run out, so any defensive tactics before that ought to be allowed.

Delaying is simple for me

So long as you control at least one of your own flags then nothing you do counts as delaying.  As soon as you lose all your flags (either due to timer or flag cap) then you must attempt to either re-cap your own flags or kill off the opposing players.

Or looking at it the other way - delaying is either running away or camping when you have lost control of all your flags.

Edit: Vovka's solution would work fine although i'd say 3 minutes is enough
