Light lance, cheap, good damage, 91 speed, very good on the ground. (I'm using a rouncey so... happen often...  :P)
A lot of people in the NA community know that Dach rages and in the process of his uncontrollable rage, he tends to kick people.

You've been warned!

Due to bigger speed of lance (+for lance) and way of holding lances which gives you ~7 length difference (+ to heavy lance), lance is better.
It is easier to time a hit with a lance (especially in 1vs1), you have vast more damage, it is cheaper and when you are dismounted, it ain't shit.

Lance for surprise-rise2012. 2012 is not over yet, we still have 1 day to choose winner before world ends.

The slower the lance is the more damage it does, so the first part isn't necessarily true.

It truly is

EDIT: Also the speed part was about the timing in 1vs1 (cav or inf) not in case of damage. As h.lancer you must predict and release attack a lot earlier than lancer who gets his max reach faster so he can release the lance late, waiting for best moment. All the accelerating and braking and turning and.... etc. has influence on who hits first. With normal lance it is also easier to fight against 1h-shield-cav, because you don't need full speed to actually hurt his horse and you can do that when moving slowly so with a lot more maneuverability that allows you to avoid dangerous rear ups.

Not quite sure what you mean by that, also you hold both lances the same way, so the heavy lance is 10 length longer.

~ 2/3 of the lance is in front of the hand and rest is behind. The longer pole the more wasted length (stab when holding in 1 hand).

EDIT: found it in Warband manual that sb posted long time ago and there was something wrong with ranged speed bonuses etc. but nvm. http://cdn.steampowered.com/Manuals/48700/PDX5505US_Warband_Manual_US.pdf?t=1271189104

"Warband uses a physics model which takes into account the speed and direction of your weapon, as well as the speed and direction of your opponent when calculating damage. The effect of this calculation will be reported to you as a speed bonus."

So was it ever explained on forums how melee speed bonus works? I would appreciate any info.
