hey guys, i just had some very deep and psychological thinking about the game balance in crpg. First of all, i would love to say i like it, but there is still somethings that need a change (like hate for archers, love for 2handers and some unrealistic balancing). BUT that is not what i would like to discuss with you guys.
i was wondering, if we are going to keep balancing (nerfing) the game's classes like this, how will the future look? at the moment, devs are trying to balance the game by making the 'OP' classes more balanced to the other classes so there would be an equal division over the several classes in the game.
the problem is situated in the fact that most of the balancing is consisted out of NERFING (except most 2h axes in latest patch, correct me if im wrong please). so this never ending 'chain' of nerfs looks like this:
JUST AN EXAMPLE.
lets say all classes start with 100% of 'epeen' and when they nerf it, e.g. 10% of it is removed.
1) cav is OP, nerf (90%)
2)archery is OP, nerf (70%)
3)throwing is OP (80%)
4)....
5)we got to a point were everything except cav is under 85%:- => cav nerfed (70%)
6) now some other classes are over 70% so they all get nerfed to 60%
7)...
OVER 9000) all is nerfed to 10% (except 2h wich is still 60%
, jk)
so you see my point, the question we should ask ourselves and we should ask the devs:
WILL WE ALL BE HITTING EACH OTHER WICH WOODEN STICKS AND STONES IN THE FUTURE? because at this rate of nerfs, the time will come that everything has been nerfed and is not playable anymore.
ofcourse im over exaggerating this, but i think my point is clear.
