Sword of War Weight, is it fine ?

I havent found any simillar thread arround, so i have decided to make my own one. It is nothing too serious, but i think it could be easily done. What i mean is weight of SOW compared to other 2 handed big swords. It's weight is 3.0, its the same as highland claymore ( which has 3 more swing dmg at a cost of 4 range and one speed point) German and Danish are both 2.5. Danish is 0.5 lighter and has one more dmg. It seems slower, BUT , the weight of SOW makes it feel more clumsy. I am not trying to say it needs to be changed, but maybe it could be considered to get a bit lighter, or exchange some speed for actual swing dmg? Please share with your thoughts :)

Weight is a positive stat on weapons. The 3kg SoW can stun most weapons and 1-slot shields after blocking held attacks, the <2.5 kg swords not so much. Block stun is an extremely powerful weapon, basically gives you several free swings in every fight. I wouldn't lobby for your weapon to get lighter!

Only if you're str build. For agi builds like me, Great Sword is way better.

How exactly would making the sword of war lighter make it better then the greatsword?

Assuming the movement speed bonus from having slightly less weight is negligible (which in my opinion it is).

I heard weight reduces glances too.

But yeah I don't think people realize how strong stun is. I remember Doom_KUTT and his +3 bar mace (5.0 weight) terrorizing siege, I swear over 50% of my shield blocks got me stunned.

Obviously a 3.0 weight wep is not quite the same beast (120 length vs 95 length...) but don't underestimate how many free swings that's getting you.

I am pretty sure this is not true, and was confirmed by Paul.

The +3 bar mace is a very popular weapon now, and the block stun is what makes it so effective (although high damage and knockdown don't hurt). All 1-slot shields and all weapons will be frequently stunned when blocking a held attack from a loomed bar mace, allowing a free followup swing for the bar mace user. Often this followup isn't blocked, because the stunee doesn't realize they are stunned and tries to attack anyway.

The 3kg SoW isn't on the same level as the bar mace, but it can still stun Elite Cavalry shields and lighter, all 1h weapons, and most 2h/pole weapons on held attacks. You just need to recognize when you deliver a block stun, then attack a second time in sequence for a "free" hit.

High weapon weight is very good, with virtually no drawbacks.
