what happens to the surviving attackers?  is the army still intact?

He looses all troops. Not sure about equipment.

He keeps some equipment, but The Empire got attacked and will loose all of it now, 350vs2 :p

The attacker looses ALL soldiers and 50% of equipment. 25% of used gear gets split up to winner and 50% of used gear goes to both sides. Unused gear goes to attacker.
