Because archery is the only one other than more cav that can "attack" cav, so to speak. They can engage cav without the cav engaging them.
But, ur also right with the pike man and 2h since archery is their natural counter.

Archery isn't nerfed. Archers can now put out more damage with more accuracy than was ever previously possible. Unloomed bows & arrows are actually useful now, too. Kiting is nerfed, but that was an awful mechanic.

Actually if Archery remains the way it is now (PLEASEEEEEEEEEE DONT CHANGE IT) then cav is getting a behind the scenes nerf, STR build archers are now viable therefore increasing the amount of damage per shot rendering cav more vulnerable to range

I don't have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad.
It’s a new patch. Ranged out of game, or scared of losing their build.
The ”Wpf” buys a nickel’s worth. Bows are going bust. Shopkeepers keep an axe under the counter.
Cavalery are running wild, and nobody knows what to do. There’s no end to it...

All I know is that first you’ve got to get mad!
