Don't underestimate the power of Masterwork Arrows!
I've been using them alot lately and i'm not doing that much worse. Yeah, you kinda have to concentrate on peasants and try to avoid tincans or just shoot heads overall, but if you're not a complete noob and you hit on a regular basis, i think having 54 arrows with 2 stacks is pretty neat. And i'm only using a mw horn bow with those.
Plus, for slowass tincans i got my piercy little sickle beating the shit out of them. But that's just me.

this topic is great

but in all seriousness, bodkin arrows will change your bow damage from cut, to pierce which helps take out heavily armored targets better than other arrows, which deal cut damage instead of pierce which is not as effective against bodkin arrows as they deal pierce damage instead of cut like all other arrows, allowing you to take down heavily armored players faster than normal arrows, because they do cut instead of pierce

hope that clears it up
Uther Pendragon: dont worry i wasnt planning on trusting you anyway

Real renown whores make some thread in the off topic section ('cuss mods are less likely to move something from off topic to spam), then, they all post, and they all 1+ each other, then they all post again, and 1+ each other, then, they all post again...
...and that's how kings are crowned...

-1 for using 'cuss, very gaylike.

The real question is can you switch between the two types while playing if you have two quivers?

Basically, just use Tatar Arrows at most, the only time Bodkin arrows have a barely noticeable advantage is against the real heavy armoured guys, other than that it just felt like a waste of gold and you also get less arrows. Well, that's all IMO of course.

They should add melee with arrows and/or bows.  That'd be sweet.
