I do not know how economy will work in strat4, but would like index "prosperity" was more meaningful to fiefs. Since this suggestion based on it.

So rigth now raid is  full shit and useless :P

Here's my suggestion how to change it:

  • During the raid in defense participates only the garrison, and not the population. (for the entire strat 3 was about 20 drz's fifs without any garrison, and a population with a fork easily kill 100-200 Raiders in medium armor.)
  • depending on the amount of sales to increase prosperity index (which gives bonus to fief's), at the same time it increases the profits from the raid.
    For example, the index ranges from 1 to 5
    1 - 1% bonus and 10k on a successful raid
    2 - 3%, and 20k
    3 - 5%, and 40k
    4 - 10% and 50k
    5- 15% and 60k

    each successful raid decreased index by -2, nonlinear dependence % and the amount of gold for the raid will stop the owners from the raid their holdings at the same time fiefs remain tasty  target for the Raiders. The absence of the "product" protects Raiders from attack on the next day, so in case of win they get profit even if they loose on next day.

Also, such a system to limit faction possessions without any stupid corrupt system, or at least complicate their lives.  :P

Whatever is done with the raid function, it is completely ridiculous as it is.  Getting gold from a fief would make sense, as well as a small amount of equipment.  Getting 99% of the gear makes absolutely no sense.
