About to fight in my first strat battle...

I am fighting for the AI, it's like 2000 of them against 100 of us in siege...with seemingly 30 or so players.

How does this play out, I know you don't keep your own armor etc, so where do you get some? Any tips or help would be appreciated.

The fief will supply gear, just select it in the equip screen when you're spawning (There will be a limited amount, so some may run out after a few respawns). Essentially after that, you want to keep the flags on the ground under your control (They're little and blue, they're where you spawn), as if all of those are taken over then the enemy wins once you've all died, as you can no longer spawn.

Honestly though with 2000 vs 100, shouldn't need to worry about much. Just kill the enemy until you're out of tickets.

EDIT: Oh one thing I forgot to mention: don't enter the server until about 60 seconds after everyone gets kicked out of the duel server, as if you enter too early your gear can bug out.

Always remember to pick up enemy equipment if its better!

And XP is calculated through equipment value so if both sides have fullplate + high end weapons, it becomes a fountain of EXP.

no. you get crazy exp if you fight and kill in big battles like 2000 vs 3000 or 5000. You can earn 700 000exp in one battle,but it is usualy 300-400 000exp. Just be close to clusterfuck,and try to maintain positive score,and you will get a lot of exp.
That battle is too small,it will be over fast. All who applied will have one,or two lifes max.

When we sieged Curaw I was getting around 1-1.3 mill exp every wave. It was beautiful.
