I made a new char and deleted my old char which was my main, but my new char is still an alt.
I have no other chars on the account.

You need to delete your main first then create a new char. While you have a main any new char will automatically become an alternate.

I see.
Is there any way to transfer the money of my current char (alt) to my new main? Since I have to delete it first.

You can use the transfer, but your char needs to be older than 3 days and at least level 15 to transfer gold and items away from him.
