Your horse *can* die in 1 hit, if its a large hit to the head or the legs, but it tends to take multiple hits to kill the horses.  I can die in one couch anywhere on my body, what's your point?

It used to take multiple hits to kill the horse yes but after they increase the leg damage 1 swing/ stab is enough to bring the whole light horse down, with speed bonus.  Couch doesn't always 1 shot, again its because of the speed bonus

If we were bein realistic, a horse would die in 1 hit by anything.
But apparently were not balancing on realism. Spook has spoken it.

Then horse bump can instant kill everything

He is one of those infantry who always whine about ranged/ CAV and say how OP they are, fuck infantry, those 2 handers always outreach my lance, and almost 80% of the time when i ran into them my horse always get killed by them in 1 hit,  Cav is not good vs infantry directly, now pretty much only good at back stabbing.

Cav easy mod? Try to take and ride a rouncey and see if you can top score with it, one mistake you are a goner since your horse dies in 1 hit, but I can still top score with my rouncey

Lots of good Cav players top score yes, but if you check on other Cav they are at the bottom lol, people who have played single player should know how to play as Cav
Eh, TBH the times I've played lancer I've been shocked by the lack of people succeding at outreaching me... and my fucking arabian can take at least two hits, most inmy old friendtry could take 2 hits too, so fuck, cav still needs to be made loud, and btw, maybe you wouldn't die to 2hs if you didn't ride a courser in an attempt to do some gay as fuck spawnraping.
EDIT: And you could always use a destrier and two-bump everyone....
1H stab is the fastest, strongest and longest 1H animation. There's no reason NOT to use it in all instances. I don't know if it's OP, but it's boring. 1H used to be fun because you had a fast (left), long (right) and the most devastating attack (stab) and had to choose the best attack for each occasion.

I had champ rouncey + courser + destrier, the thing is the rider is sat on middle of the horse so its  not near on the horse head, which mean the lance length will get reduce when you thrust people

k, c, thing is, I play cav, I don't need shit explained to me like I'm some kindergarten kid, and courser is only good for spawnraping, destriers can kill people in medium armor in two bumps, and by turning the horse right you can outreach several greatsworders, but you'd rather rape their asses I guess, expecting a lancer to do a head on charge, insane!

what do we balance the game off of?

Have you ever played any successful online game ever? Off what developers think is the right direction.
Best ban reason ever:

I checked, the only Vagabond I found was Wolves_Vagabond_TheCruel, that guy is now unbanned. Ban reason was: "calling Zotte a cockswoggler".

Read that: http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,34711.0.html

In particular this:
Quote
Also, we don't do changes because we want the game to be more realistic. We do changes because we feel they are right. If they fit with realism, that's great, and it's also our guideline, but almost never the reason for a change. We are not trying do create a simulator, we are trying to create a game.

I would still call cRPG a realism style game, but the bottom line is about creating good gameplay. When it can sync up with realism then great and that often happens, but "good gameplay" is the goal. I don't think they want to go out of their way to make it less realistic though, its still a "guidline" as they say, just not always the main focus

Also, people use "realism" as a way to push their own agenda with the game. You can use realism to buff or nerf practically anything, depending on the particular realism bits you want to incorporate, or which realism angle you want to come from. Better to instead talk about balance and fun while keeping in mind a sense of realism
