Crouching combined with Pavise shield?

Bump for glory. This is a good idea indeed.

I support both a WPF requirement for xbows (no idea if feasible).

If nothing else, it would be nice to get an alternate mode to the board shields to put them up to the ground as a mobile cover. You'd still need the shield skill for it, but you could pick it up as well. Dedicated pavise would be best ofc.

My idea for pavise is to make it like a siege shield.  You can't use it in combat really, but you can place it on the ground.  It can take 5-6 hits in melee, and you can pick it up again to move it.

Definitely a good idea! But there is a problem, crossbows are already a bit more strong than the other ranged classes (as people see them). Balance issues, balance issues

Nah.

In fact, only people with regular crossbows would wear this, considering they want a sidearm as well.
