The Great Axe is a very under rated 2h. 24/15 build you will 1-2 shot a lot and shields are no problem at all.

Don't loom weapons, sell 2 heirloom points and buy a +3 Great Sword and spend an heirloom point on a body or hand armor.

Military Hammer, bought mine for 500k and it is a really rare weapon to see.
