Weapons being stuck for a moment?

Is this because of lag or?

It happened to me again.

1. I prepare for swing/thrust. Say, with a Pike.
2. I release the mouse button and move forward...
3.  ...but nothing happens. My weapon is still in attack position.
4. I get hacked to death.
Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.

I blame lag for that. Sometimes the hit comes way later after I've already taken my finger off the mouse button.
Why is everybody telling me to think? I think, I just don't show it.

Welcome to the club. This happens to me sometimes. I have the problem on Native servers as well. When this happens I can move and run around in armed stance, the character won't the release the attack until I re-click LMB.

It's lag (actually more likely packet loss), sometimes my weapon gets stuck after I chamber a hit and I can run around with the chambered hit without keeping LMB pressed.
